UrbanMistrii designs this paediatric clinic with a dash of quirk and play

This paediatric clinic is as cute and playful as the kids. Designed by Ritika Rakhiani, Principal Designer and Founder at UrbanMistrii, Dr. Someya Agarwal’s Gurugram clinic is all about channeling the innocence and creativity that brim within children, turning mere walls into a canvas for dreams and healing.

When Dr. Agarwal approached UrbanMistrii with her vision for a holistic paediatric clinic, she brought with her a philosophy: “getting healthy is a team sport.” Inspired by this collaborative ethos, Ritika embarked on a quest to translate it into spatial reality, creating a space that integrates medical expertise with an atmosphere of warmth and positivity.

Sterile walls and clinical furnishings await to welcome one, but by a wonderland exuding infectious energy. Gone are the austere greys. It’s the reigning age of bright hues and whimsical patterns that ignite the imagination; the reception area is cocooned in walls adorned with playful dots and clouds.

Designed with the young ones in mind, every aspect of the clinic caters to their needs and comforts. From adjustable reception desks to bunny-eared chairs in the workshop area, every detail is thoughtfully crafted to ensure a welcoming experience for children of all ages. Even the doctor’s cabins have soft tones and gentle lighting.

Recognising the sensitivity of young minds to overwhelming stimuli, the designer ensures that every space—from the reception area to the workshop—is conducive to healing and exploration.

In addition to its medical facilities, the clinic also houses a daycare room where children can spend the night for observation, as well as an office for a visiting nutritionist. These spaces, bathed in soothing tones and grounded in comfort, reflect UrbanMistrii’s dedication to addressing the diverse needs of children at every stage of their wellness journey.

But perhaps the most touching aspect of the clinic is the dedicated space for Dr. Agarwal’s husband, a doctor himself, who seeks solace amidst the laughter of children. Rendered in mature tones and designed as a retreat for introspection, his cabin serves as a reminder that healing is not just about treating the body—it’s about nourishing the soul.
