Tucked away from the city’s chaos, this home serves as a rebellion against the rigid demands of a bustling Urbania. The 7,000-sq ft. residence is thoughtfully organised into independent wings, boasting cascading roofs that emerge from the lush greenscapes. Awash with natural light throughout, the home successfully balances modernity and tradition.
Leveraging the Expansive Area
With an L-shaped layout, the architects have ensured that the outdoors remain visible from every section of the home. This design cleverly utilises a corner rectangular plot, graced by two tall trees. The three-level house is tailored to the needs of a family of doctors, offering space for living, playing, entertaining, and partying in style. It features spacious living and dining areas, meticulously designed restful bedrooms, a spa and gymnasium, a library, and entertainment spaces that seamlessly connect to the green exteriors.
Dressing Up the Interiors
Having been involved with the project from its inception, we’ve adorned the floors, walls, and ceilings to highlight the woodwork and artistic flair of the interiors. These design choices are also tailored to the family’s preferences. The upper ground and first floors house a clinic for the family of doctors, along with residential quarters, casual dining and lounge areas, and the kitchen. The family often spends most of their time in the lounge. The house is themed around contemporary minimalism, avoiding false ceilings in the living and dining hall and incorporating large windows and doors to fill the bedrooms with natural light.
Entertainment and Vibrancy
Inspired by the family’s love for entertaining guests and relaxing on holidays, the top floor features an entertainment zone, comprising a home theatre, a spa connected to the terrace, and a bar. A dark colour palette evokes a moody yet stylish atmosphere, with woody notes on the floor. The residence also boasts a lavish outdoor setting with a tree in the corner, providing an ideal backdrop.
Spaces for Children and Artful Lighting
A thoughtfully designed library and kids’ rooms cater to the lovely and mischievous children of the family, while keeping in mind the possibility of more children in the future. The child’s room is a vibrant spot with delightfully stimulating decor. Lighting choices play a crucial role in enhancing the home’s ambiance, with interesting hanging patterns and pendant lighting that embrace the authenticity of the space designed. Exuberant outdoor spaces with art installations, subtle harmony, and a carefully considered colour scheme contribute to the serenity and luxury of this suburban oasis located in the outskirts of Indore.
