In the bustling cityscape of Bengaluru, the rhythm of life often races against the clock. Finding its address in the IT capital is this 3 BHK apartment by Plavi Design Studio where two distinct lives are taking shape. Here, a brother (a frequent visitor from Dubai) and sister (a resident of Bengaluru), each with their own lifestyles influenced from different corners of the world, converge to create a space amidst the urban chaos. Spanning 1,800 square feet, this apartment transcends mere bricks and mortar.
“From the carefully chosen furnishings to the thoughtfully designed storage solutions, every aspect of the home reflects the siblings’ desire for a space that feels inviting, cozy, and free from unnecessary distractions” says Plavita Borah of her namesake firm. Upon crossing the threshold, a reverberating chime signals a departure from the external hustle, ushering visitors into a space where contemplation and holistic wellness take precedence.
Within the expansive living area, crafted from the warmth of Canadian oak veneer and solid wood, form marries function seamlessly. An inviting burnt orange sofa harmonises with an olive green ottoman, serving as both a central table and supplementary seating.
Journeying through the interconnected layout, a brick wall extends, weaving continuity into the dining expanse. A circular mirror commands attention, reflecting the surrounding earthy and sustainable elements. Illuminated by a gentle radiance emanating from a cane pendant light, the dining table, fashioned from sturdy wood, fosters an atmosphere of camaraderie and kinship.
A sliding door, fashioned from perforated solid wood, gracefully delineates the sacred pooja enclave from the culinary domain, offering privacy with ventilation. Adorned with terracotta accents and subtle grey grouting, the pooja space stands as a sanctified refuge amidst the contemporary urban milieu.
In the brother’s room, an air of masculinity pervades, characterised by olive green embellishments and abstract blinds, while Nordic-inspired pendant lights cast a warm embrace over the distant cityscape. In stark contrast, the sister’s chamber, adorned with a singular bed and lime-finished textured walls, accented by avant-garde lighting fixtures, exudes a distinctively different aura.
