Design Democracy 2024: A celebration of innovation, craftsmanship and visionary design

Design Democracy 2024, held from October 4th to 6th at the Hitex Exhibition Center in Hyderabad, was a premier gathering of design minds, attracting over 12,500 visitors and 4,000 architects. With more than 85 exhibitors, the event showcased cutting-edge ideas, craftsmanship, and technologies, redefining the future of design.

The event featured immersive exhibitions, installations, and interactive workshops, offering attendees opportunities to engage with global design innovators. From sustainable building techniques to avant-garde furniture and bespoke artworks, Design Democracy 2024 celebrated diversity in design. The installations creatively blended modern technologies with traditional craftsmanship, creating a seamless fusion of innovation and heritage.

A key feature of the event was DD Spotlight, which featured powerful panel discussions and keynotes from industry leaders. Sunita Kohli, an expert in architecture and interior design, shared her insights on merging tradition with modern design, while Aditi Anuj captivated the audience with her origami-inspired art. Carl Bhesania, a leader in  architecture industry, Nistas Sanga, a renowned landscape architect, and Ekta Parekh, a prominent architect and co-founder of reD Architects, also contributed valuable perspectives. These sessions sparked lively conversations that helped shape a vision for the future of design.

The event also hosted DD Pixels, where design influencers like Ishita Sitwala and Shabnam Gupta (Styled by Peacock Life) shared innovative design ideas on transforming personal spaces with a focus on sustainability and aesthetics.

Another highlight was Design Democracy Ventures, which spotlighted entrepreneurs creating ground-breaking design solutions. Rajiv Parekh, and Nancy Satish shared their visionary ideas, offering attendees a glimpse into the future of the design industry.

Beyond the presentations, Design Democracy 2024 facilitated a dynamic networking environment, encouraging collaboration and partnerships. Attendees exchanged ideas, forming connections that will shape future collaborations and influence the design industry for years to come.

With hands-on workshops, attendees gained insights into the latest design techniques, sustainable materials, and advanced technologies, equipping them with tools to enhance their own work. Design Democracy 2024 successfully demonstrated how design can solve real-world problems, drive innovation, and foster sustainability.
