Luxury, Elegance, and Personal Touches: Inside Akbar Maredia’s Latest Andheri West Residence

Akbar Maredia’s latest project in Andheri West is undoubtedly a masterpiece in every way. The project was commissioned by a family of four who desired a luxurious and grand home, and Maredia and his team went above and beyond to ensure that the final product exceeded their expectations.

One of the most striking features of this project is the balance between indoor and outdoor areas. The outdoor deck area runs along three sides of the property, allowing natural light to flood the bedrooms, washrooms, and dining areas, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The kitchen, located in one corner of the site, has access to the outdoor deck area, which is used for open dining, pizza ovens, and barbeque. Sliding screens were installed to provide privacy when necessary, ensuring that the space is as functional as it is beautiful.

This luxury apartment was styled with a vision of creating a space that is both glamorous and exuberant for our clients. The use of elaborate sculptures, statement artwork and elegant accessories – all added to make this space a carefully curated home. The clients were a young family and wanted a space that was well designed and styled. The overall vibe of the space had to be modern and contemporary but at the same time cozy and inviting with hints of quirkiness – making it the ideal space to entertain guests.

The formal living area was styled with a variety of curated accessories like crystal decorative objects, colorful glass vases and candle stands, metal statement sculpture and ceramic wall décor all tying in together to create a balanced but visually aesthetic space. We brought in a lot of character through the materials, textures, and patterns; mix and match of cushions paired with a simple and classic carpet to ensure that the design on the flooring was the focus. A quirky corner in the living room styled with objects with different texture and material was the perfect addition to complete the space. Even the long passages running through the home were highlighted with interesting range of artworks. From bold paintings, to a series of quirky wall art decor, to unique colored mirrors – that have brought character and movement to the space.

The heart of this home was the wrap-around balcony providing a 180-degree view of the cityscape that we wanted to make as the ideal spot to entertain guests. Styled a series of lush plants, planters, lanterns and fun pieces of decor throughout the outdoor deck, a statement vertical garden by the bar to make it the perfect place to grab your drinks, and to complete the look, a bold statement sculpture that simply adds the ‘wow’ factor to that outdoor deck.

Each bedroom has its private deck area overlooking the city skyline, and each washroom has a convertible open deck area that allows the bather to look up at the sky while enjoying the sauna. The washrooms are not just functional spaces but are also designed to provide a luxurious and relaxing experience. Each washroom has a unique color theme, carefully chosen to create a specific mood and ambiance. The outdoor deck area also includes a convertible bar area and a day bed for the owners and their guests to unwind. The special design elements used throughout the house make each area unique while still maintaining the overall theme of luxury and elegance.

Each of the bedrooms was decorated very differently based on each the client’s needs but keeping the overall theme the same – classy yet styled in an interesting way by using materials of different textures and colors to add character to these bedrooms. The use of subtle artwork, a combination of fun yet elegant accessories along with a selection of quirky carpets enabled us to create a harmonious look that complimented the panoramic views of lush greenery visible from all rooms. We gave each bathroom a unique look by accessorizing them with a variety of small sculptures, vases, decorative vanity boxes and entrancing artwork. A perfect mix of splendour and subtlety is what made this home a heavenly abode.

The dining area is convertible and can be opened to enjoy the view of the skyline. The outdoor deck area is specially designed with a collapsible bar unit, art installations, and a telescope for stargazing. The master bedroom is equally stunning, with mirrors used to add depth and design elements. A unique design element was added to the washroom, where the washbasin and mirror were suspended from the ceiling, and wooden blinds provided privacy while allowing the bather to enjoy the view.

The house is home to a family of four, each belonging to a different age group. Each area of the house has a different narrative, yet the main theme is kept intact. The team created a mood board combining art and elegance, resulting in a unique combination of flamboyance, a peppy vibe, and elegance. The project is a stunning combination of luxury, elegance, and personal touches.
