FORESTIS in South Tyrol combines luxurious accommodations with nature

Located 1,800 meters above sea level, FORESTIS by Architect Armin Sader stands as South Tyrol’s most unique boutique wellness hotel. Originally envisioned as a sanatorium in 1912, the site was transformed into a hotel in 2010 by Alois Hinteregger. His son, Stefan Hinteregger, and Teresa Unterthiner have since evolved the property into a haven for wellness and luxury, offering panoramic views, holistic treatments, and a serene escape in the Dolomites.

MEANING:

The name FORESTIS, derived from ‘Foresta’ and ‘Roots,’ reflects a vision of creating a sanctuary where guests can reconnect with nature and themselves.

AREA:

FORESTIS boasts 62 suites and an expansive 2,000 m² spa, harmonizing with the natural surroundings and offering an unparalleled retreat at the doorstep of the UNESCO World Natural Heritage Dolomites.

SPA TOWERS:

The three sculptural suite towers, inspired by tree trunks, provide stunning views of the Dolomites and serve as a focal point for relaxation and rejuvenation. These towers minimize the footprint on the forest floor, allowing guests to feel immersed in nature while enjoying modern amenities.

INTEGRATION WITH NATURE:

Natural materials such as stone, wood, and glass are used extensively, creating a harmonious environment that enhances the wellness experience.

STATE-OF-THE-ART SPA:

The 2,000 m² FORESTIS Spa is a cornerstone of the hotel’s design, featuring a variety of treatment rooms, saunas, and relaxation areas. The spa’s circular layout and use of natural materials evoke a sense of harmony and balance.

UNIQUE AMENITIES:

The spa includes features such as an outdoor cold plunge pool filled with mountain snow, a local mountain herb
sauna, and a meditation area, providing guests with a comprehensive wellness experience.

INDOOR-OUTDOOR INTEGRATION:
Large windows and glass walls throughout the property maximize natural light and offer panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and forests, creating a bright and airy atmosphere that promotes better sleep and overall well-being.

PASSIVE SOLAR DESIGN:

The building’s orientation maximizes passive solar gain in the winter and minimizes heat gain in the summer, reducing energy consumption.

NOISE REDUCTION AND ACOUSTIC DESIGN:

Acoustic insulation and soundabsorbing materials are used extensively to minimize noise levels, creating a quieter and more conducive environment for healing.
