Designing for a client entrenched in the upper echelons of corporate circles, where the reverence for privacy blends seamlessly with an appreciation for the finer things in life, presents a unique challenge for any designer. The task at hand involves striking the delicate balance of infusing opulence and grace into a vast living space while maintaining a subdued elegance. The sprawling apartment, akin to a lavish banquet from end to end, prompted the lead designers of Vaastavya Nilay and Nidhi Parekh to adopt a strategic approach, much like savoring a gourmet meal, starting with the dessert and progressing towards the main course.
Says Nilay, “In any Michelin star restaurant, you will notice that the cuisine, décor, style, the aura of the chef…it all amounts to nothing if the taste is not phenomenal. This site is somewhat like that – the client is a deeply private person but intensely fond of style and there are wonderful soirees here with family and friends. Yes, the luxury and elegance have to be top class but the home has to be a home, after all! Besides, he is well travelled and therefore the home needed to have little pockets where you can sit and ponder on life and love!”
Commencing with the pièce de résistance, the living room, the designers meticulously curated a selection of textures, colors, and nuances to craft a masterful interior. The focal point, a large wall upon entry, underwent thoughtful planning to transform into a captivating showpiece.
The unconventional oak-style paneling, circular wall pieces, gold accents, and carefully chosen furnishings culminated in a harmonious visual spectacle reminiscent of classic charm.
The interplay of colors, textures, and shades throughout the residence harmonizes with the emotional quotient (EQ) of the home. The dining room, veiled in privacy and design finesse, features mirror-paneled walls, a coordinated dining set, and a soft Victorian chandelier casting delicate patterns.
Bedrooms echo diverse themes, from a French-style Parisian salon in the master bedroom to a deeper shade of mauve/magenta in the daughter’s room, preserving a balance between glamor and tranquility.
The home theatre, characterized by a low-level seating arrangement and a small bar unit, provides a relaxed entertainment space. The upper floor family area, adorned with exposed concrete and a vaulted ceiling, showcases the family’s cherished furniture and serves as a favorite retreat.
The balcony, adorned with warm wood furniture, soft lighting, and a green wall, becomes a go-to spot on the 14th floor. Lastly, the terrace, featuring a gazebo and easy chairs, offers a panoramic view of the city lights, concluding the design with a touch of serenity and sophistication.
In conclusion, this exquisite residence, a testament to opulence and thoughtful design, stands as a masterpiece crafted by the renowned design firm, VAASTAVYA. Under the creative direction of lead designers Nilay Parekh and Nidhi Parekh, the home seamlessly blends luxury with privacy, creating a haven for its deeply private owner.
From the captivating living room to the intimate bedrooms, each space tells a unique story of elegance and comfort. VAASTAVYA’s meticulous attention to detail, harmonious color palettes, and curated furnishings have transformed this vast expanse into a sanctuary that embodies the essence of a truly sophisticated and well-lived life.
