The notes of the famous song “Volare” by Domenico Modugno, winner of the Sanremo Festival in 1958, ushers in the new 2023 season for Visionnaire–not only a collection of stunning products, but an outstanding project of architecture and interior design, unique in its approach. For its first architectural project, Visionnaire unveils a luxurious residential project completely conceived by the brand and realized in collaboration with the real estate developer Volare.
The magnificient villa rises on the shores of Jumeirah Bay Island, an extremely exclusive place for Visionnaire’s first project in the world of real estate. The project is an oasis of peace and exclusivity where sky and sea beautifully merge together. The villa designed by Alessandro La Spada embodies the identity of Visionnaire and that of the territory in a sophisticated way.
The project aims to enhance the Genius Loci – the soul of the place – through the use of natural materials and colors that dialogue with the palette of the land and respond to the climatic conditions of the place. In this ultra-luxe project sea, sand and sky define the connection between architecture and nature. The interiors aim to create an elegant and refined environment, where light and shadow, transparencies and reflections create effects of mystery.
“The title of the project is VOLARE – says Leo Cavalli, CEO and Co-founder of Visionnaire. – Volare is the name of the developer with whom we are working, but it is also the name of our new 2023 collection, which we have borrowed from the song by Modugno. ‘Volare’ (Flying) means making room for imagination, soaring aloft to see wider perspectives, nurturing visions and being visionaries. Hence ‘Volare’ is an ambitious project, a project such as never before been formulated in our industry. The concept that we have presented in our new collection is the same one we have applied to the Volare project in Dubai.”
Volare will be a villa of 2000 sqm which Visionnaire, together with the designer Alessandro La Spada, has designed on the beach inside the plush Bulgari Compound in Dubai. The renowned Italian designer has been working with Visionnaire since 2004, creating numerous iconic pieces for the brand. This signature project, will be a recognizable and iconic unit, at first glance from the outside. Here the palette of materials and colors then enters the interior in fluid continuity with the external architecture. An overall language that fully respects the genius loci, spreading from the outside into the house, mingling with the architecture: an innovative result with respect to what has been offered today in the field of luxury real estate.
The factors of “innovation” and “respect for the genius loci” have guided the evolution of the brand over the last 18 years. Visionnaire was founded as a company with a language that brings together different worlds and material, which in the history of design had never been utilized within the same product or the same settings. The mansion is connected to the landscape. Stone, marble and glass define the architectural volumes. Typical motifs of Visionnaire’s language recur up to the definition of every single detail: the stone is engraved following a relief design which, on the one hand, evokes the quilting of some of the maison’s iconic products, and on the other, it pays homage to the softness of the desert dunes. If during the day it is the sunlight that creates shadows and contrasts on the stone, at night a LED system recreates a game of light.
Leo Cavalli elaborates, “Our growth has always been driven by our clients – first by asking us to find solutions for kitchens, bathrooms, outdoor furnishings and now this latest evolution of our home philosophy, which is also applied to yachting and the soft contract sector, associated with real estate development. Therefore our language gets constantly closer to architecture, to convey a coherent idea of storytelling for the project, a house that even more fully reflects the personality of its owner.”
Volare is the new residential concept of Visionnaire, created to narrate a true philosophy of habitation that is inspired by the Japanese word “yugen”(幽玄), a beauty that is often suggested rather than explicitly displayed, an aesthetic experience that requires an attitude of attention, contemplation and sensitivity to be fully appreciated. For Visionnaire, Volare becomes the “manifesto” of the contemporary home, a project that starts from the content to formulate its container, passing from the individual to the space. The places of the home are no longer defined simply by their architectural functions, but are organized on the basis of the emotions of the people who will be their inhabitants.
The Volare project emphasizes on attention to detail, all the way to the creation of an olfactory identity for spaces. Visionnaire in collaboration with the famous perfume designer, Antonella Bondi, has developed an original fragrance exclusively for this project. The fragrance was developed after conducting research into the identity of places, objects and materials making it a truly unique Villa in the luxury real estate sector.
