Spaces and Design creates harmonious, personality-infused environments through Pranic Feng Shui principles

Spaces and Design is an award-winning design studio based in Kolkata, founded by Pooja Bihani with the intent to create harmonious, aesthetic, and highly functional environments that enrich the lives of the users. Pooja believes in giving each project its own identity, working within the constraints of site, budget, and the clients’ lifestyle and needs. “We like to work sans boundaries. Spanning from eclectic Indian to Scandinavian influences, and frequently crafting customised design elements and wall art—our firm embraces the idea of infusing personality and uniqueness into every project,” reveals Pooja.

This residence, spread over two floors, is a beautiful amalgamation of old-world charm and contemporary lifestyle
that pays homage to the look-feel of a generational bungalow yet celebrates the modern. Pooja’s design language of fusing disparate styles with the use of rich materials like marble and oak wood in a classic, timeless colour palette on the lower floors and abstract, muted tones on the upper level, establishes the blended ethos of this home. A combination of luxury and tradition with the appropriate touch of modernism gives birth to this captivating residence, where every corner leads to a design discovery. The attempt to honour the old while bringing in new elements gives rise to this successful fusion experience of Art Moderne.
