Atelier, the brainchild of Ashiesh Shah’s acclaimed architectural studio, emerged in 2017 with a bold vision to blur the lines between art and design. Serving as an extension of Shah’s design ethos, Atelier Ashiesh Shah embodies a dedication to craftsmanship, experimentation and technique, fostering a collaborative environment for creative exploration. Inspired by years of crafting bespoke furniture pieces, Shah seamlessly transitioned from interior to product design, guided by a penchant for geometry, materiality, and the elegant Wabi-Sabi aesthetic.
Rooted in sustainability and empowerment, Atelier serves as a dynamic hub where innovative minds converge to shape evolving narratives of aesthetics. Embracing Indian geometry and cosmic forms, Atelier redefines scale and elevates lesser-known crafts from across India, weaving a tapestry of culture, history, and tactile experiences into contemporary design objects. From Channapatna in Karnataka to Longpi in Meghalaya, Atelier’s creations celebrate the rich diversity of India’s artisanal traditions, offering a collection of functional monoforms that transcend time and tradition.

Artfully curated for a family of two, this residence is a symphony of elegance and craftsmanship. Illuminated by natural light, the space effortlessly combines muted tones with handcrafted treasures, creating an ambiance reminiscent of an art gallery. Segmented into a social den and private retreat, the apartment showcases Shah’s design finesse, incorporating global artistry. From Jean-François Lesage’s contemporary macrame in the master bedroom to the tactile grace of the master bathroom, the space achieves a seamless fusion of minimalism and curated refinement. The dining area, adorned with dark wooden elements and exotic marble, harmoniously extends to the lush exterior. With a sophisticated blend of monochromatic aesthetics, minimalism, and well-placed bursts of color, this residence defines a refreshing and dramatic interior.
